Welcome to Little Rippers, an exclusive, award-winning program at The Lakes SLSC designed specifically for our youngest beachgoers!
We created Little Rippers with one core goal in mind: to teach 3-to-5-year-old children vital beach safety skills while they have an absolute blast on the sand.
Who: Children aged 3–5 years old
When: Sunday mornings at 8:30 am (Nippers season: October – March)
Duration: 45–60 action-packed minutes
Where: The Lakes SLSC (grassed areas and beachfront)
We know that the beach can be overwhelming for little ones, so our program is designed to build confidence at their pace.
We start the season with engaging games and activities on the grass in front of the clubhouse and on the soft sand. As the kids become more comfortable with the coastal environment, we progress to fun activities right at the water's edge.
A Note on Water Safety: Your child's safety is our top priority. Little Rippers do not enter deep water. All water-based activities are strictly limited to the shoreline, allowing the shallow waves to safely wash up to the kids' toes.
Sundays are all about variety, teamwork, and family involvement! Here is how our mornings run:
Activity Stations: Each week, we set up several different exciting activity stations around the beach.
Group Rotations: Your child will be allocated to a small group that will rotate through the stations, ensuring every child gets a turn at every activity.
Parent Involvement: We love it when parents get involved! We are always on the lookout for parent helpers to act as 'Age Managers' for each group (we aim for at least two per group). Even if you aren't an Age Manager, we warmly invite all parents to jump in, get sandy, and participate in the activities with their children.
Little Rippers is one of the most highly sought-after programs in our Junior Activities lineup, and spaces fill up incredibly fast.
Be sure to register your child as soon as possible to secure your place on the beach this season!
